Education in Croatia is categorized into primary school, high school and university education. Schooling begins at the age of 6 or 7. The duration of primary schools is 8 years in total. Primary school is divided into two parts- Part 1. 1 to 4th grade, in these classess basic mathematics and Croatian languages are taught, and Part 2. 5th to 8th grade, in these classes history and geography are taught. Later, subjects like Chemistry, Physics and Biology are also taught.

The duration of high school education in Croatia is 4 years. Students who go for high school must need to earn some university degree, as high school education is not application oriented. High school education in Croatia is difficult, around 15 to 17 subjects are taught as part of high school education.
